Andréa est née le 29 mars 1984, à Granby, Qc.
C'est à l’âge de 10 ans qu'elle suivi une année de cours de peinture avec Suzanne Desmarais de Granby. Ce fut sa seule formation et c'est son professeur de cinquième année du primaire qui lui offrit ce grand privilège! Il voyait en elle un talent particulier, il lui donna ses ailes.
Arrivée à l’âge adulte, elle s’est dirigée vers le domaine de la santé et a travaillée comme technologiste d’analyse biomédicale. C’est pourquoi son évolution se développa de manière autodidacte.
Andréa Marquis fut passionnée dès l'enfance par la peinture. C'est avec des années d'exploration de techniques que son coup de pinceau bien à elle fit surface. Elle participa à sa toute première exposition à l'été 2011.
L'émotion, l'énergie et les couleurs sont le fil conducteur de son art. C'est par l'entremise de sujets vivants, en majorité des animaux, qu'elle nous exprime cette explosion colorée. Un art figuratif contemporain caractérise son travail.
À ce jour, elle a exposé un peu partout au Québec, en Ontario, à New-York et même à Londres. Aussi représentée par plusieurs galeries d'art au Québec, elle ne cessera de vous impressionner par son style unique qui ne laisse personne indifférent.
From the age of eight, a passion for painting won my heart. So I followed a year of lessons before exploring by myself this vast world that is painting. More than fifteen years were necessary to me to participate in my first art exhibition. It was important for me to have a solid background.
So I started my career with a very realistic and colorful style, where details abound and mastery of brushwork were highlighted. As the years passed, the more I needed to express myself. Always have to respect the reality, the colors and all the details of a picture became unbearable. The feeling of being caged took place...
This was the beginning of a long transition. Four years were necessary for me to finally put on canvas what I had in my heart. A personal representation of living subjects, expressive and vibrant. A set of color and movement settled in the foreground that let you discover a figurative subject in a second level.
Now, I dare! I have the pleasure to drop my painting. This to emphasize shadows and lights, sharp curves, energy, expression, contrasts ... It all comes down through movement and emotion. Spontaneity is now the essence of my art. A unique and refined style that leaves no one indifferent.
